SUSTAINABILITY
The beauty of the honeybee is she can't drive a tractor. She uses neither herbicides nor pesticides and won't genetically modify a plant species to increase harvest yields. Pound for pound she's the best damn farmer on the planet—and she never disturbs nary the petal of a flower nor a clump of soil.

The honeybee takes the ecologist's concept of sustainable agricultural methods and goes one giant beeline further by promoting botanical health and diversity through indiscriminate pollinating and noninvasive harvesting practices. And she hasn't even demanded a patent for her methods.

We're happy to be in the business of employing many millions of honeybees to make our product and we believe this arrangement is healthy for the environment. If our shameless consumption of mead does some ecological good, then a meadmaker's work might make a difference.
